How Can We Help?
Eugenics and Bioethics
The Ruling Elite want to create a race of ‘super humans’ who are hooked up to ‘Universal Intelligence’, so want to ‘sort out the wheat from the chaff’. In this respect, Eugenics and Bioethics are a big part of their plans. BIOETHICS is the study of the ethical issues emerging from advances in biology and medicine. Some bioethicists in the 21st century have employed bioethics to justify eugenics policies.
Eugenics is a set of beliefs and practices that aim to improve the genetic quality of a human population, historically by excluding people and groups judged to be inferior, or by promoting those judged to be superior. In recent years, the term has seen a revival in bioethical discussions on the usage of new technologies such as CRISPR and genetic screening, with a heated debate on whether these technologies should be called eugenics or not.
An example of a prominent and controversial bioethicist with Eugenics tendencies was the CFR member EZEKIEL EMANUEL, the brother of Donald Trump’s showbiz agent, ARI EMANUEL. For more on the Emanuel family, see my article “Climate Change” in the Science section. Ezekiel Emmanuel was an oncologist and one of America’s most influential bioethicists. During the Covid pandemic, in November 2020, President-elect Joe Biden named Ezekiel Emanuel to be one of the 16 members of his COVID-19 Advisory Board.
Ezekiel was a Senior Advisor to the Director General of the WHO, where he provided direction for the WHO’s Universal Health Care initiative, particularly in the areas of screening and care for cancer in low-income countries and its medical ethics program. He also helped devise strategy for the WHO Academy, a training initiative for 10 million public health professionals across the globe.
At the World Economic Forum, Ezekiel was the chair of its’ meta-council on the Future of Health Care Committee. Ezekiel was the founding chair of the department of bioethics at the US National Institutes of Health (NIH).
Ezekiel was one of the prime architects and salesmen of ‘OBAMACARE’ (President Barack Obama’s Affordable Care Act), when he served as a special advisor for health policy to the White House Office of Management and Budget.
Ezekiel was a senior fellow at the ‘center left’ think tank, CAP (Center for American Progress). Ezekiel was an Op-Ed contributor to centre left media outlets such as the NEW YORK TIMES and a contributor to MSNBC shows such as “Morning Joe” and “The Rachel Maddow Show”.
Ezekiel was a fellow at a leading bioethics research institute with a Eugenics background: the HASTINGS CENTER, which claimed to be “…committed to strengthening the field of bioethics nationally and globally.” The Hastings Center had a connection to the Rockefeller family, who in turn had a long involvement with promoting eugenics and depopulation.
In 2020, The Hastings Center hosted an online discussion of the ethical issues related to easing Covid-19 pandemic restrictions in the USA: “Re-Opening the Nation: What Values Should Guide Us?” This conversation featured Ezekiel and 2 others. Ezekiel complained that ‘Big Tech’ (Facebook, Google, et al) was not doing enough to share data about users’ movements with governments and researchers, relevant to COVID-19.
By 2021, Ezekiel was publicly advocating mandatory vaccination for frontline workers and students. He also said that ‘immunity passports’ were “ethical” (See his 2020 co-written paper: “The Ethics of COVID-19 Immunity-Based Licenses (“Immunity Passports”)”.
Ezekiel was criticised for his support of ‘death panels’ and for effectively throwing out the Hippocratic Oath, preferring that scarce medical resources should go to those who contribute most to society. As such, he was part of a school of thought that redefines a physician’s duty, insisting that it includes working for the ‘greater good’ of society instead of focusing only on a patient’s needs. He argued that a life past the age of 75 is mostly worthless. He argued this in his 2014 essay in “The Atlantic”: “WHY I HOPE TO DIE AT 75: An argument that society and families—and you—will be better off if nature takes its course swiftly and promptly”.
A Hastings Center co-founder and eugenicist who received Rockefeller support was DANIEL JOHN CALLAHAN, who served as a director of the AES (American Eugenics Society, rebranded as The Society for the Study of Social Biology, then again as The Society for Biodemography and Social Biology). Also at the AES (as its’ chairman) was the Hastings Center founding director THEODOSIUS DOBZHANSKY, a central figure in the field of evolutionary biology who had emigrated to the USA with financial help from the Rockefeller Foundation. Dobzhansky worked at the Rockefeller Institute (renamed the Rockefeller University) as a Genetics Professor until his retirement in 1971.
Dobzhansky was a big fan of the ‘New Age’ Jesuit scientist PIERRE TEILHARD DE CHARDIN, so helped set up the American Teilhard de Chardin Association in 1967, becoming its’ president in 1969. Chardin got praise from the UNESCO head, JULIAN HUXLEY, brother of Aldous Huxley. Other prominent ‘New Agers’ involved with the American Teilhard de Chardin Association were THOMAS BERRY and JEAN HOUSTON.
Returning to Daniel Callahan; he spent a Summer as a Resident Scholar at the ‘New Age’ ASPEN Institute for Humanistic Studies. I don’t know what he did there, but at the same time at Aspen (Summer 1975) a workshop took place, resulting in the report: “The Planetary Bargain: Proposals for a New International Economic Order to meet Human Needs” (July 7 – August 1, 1975).
Callahan worked at some Rockefeller creations: THE POPULATION COUNCIL and also the Rockefeller Foundation Humanities Fellowships. Callahan was funded by the Rockefeller Foundation for a Hastings Center project: “Medicine and the Market”, which yielded the book: “Medicine and the Market: Equity v Choice” (Johns Hopkins University Press, 2006).
Callahan worked at the FORD FOUNDATION (Project Director, Ford Foundation Study of the Teaching of Ethics in Schools of Public Policy) and on a joint Ford-Rockefeller creation: the Ford-Rockefeller Program in Population Policy (on its’ Selection Committee). Callahan belonged to the Planned Parenthood Federation (on its’ Margaret Sanger Award Committee). At the US Govt’s CDC (Center for Disease Control and Prevention) he was a member of the Director’s Advisory Committee.
Another Hastings Centre co-founder was WILLARD GAYLIN, who at the Planned Parenthood Federation of America served on the board of directors. Gaylin is quoted in the opening credits of the sci-fi film on genetic engineering, “Gattaca”:
“I not only think that we will tamper with Mother Nature, I think Mother wants us to.” (Willard Gaylin ,1984, “What’s So Special about Being Human?”).
A longstanding Hastings Center member was the well-known bioethicist ARTHUR CAPLAN, who at GLAXOSMITHKLINE (a large multinational pharmaceutical company and vaccine manufacturer) chaired its’ advisory committee on bioethics. Caplan chaired the Advisory Committee to the UN ON HUMAN CLONING, and served on the special advisory committee to the INTERNATIONAL OLYMPIC COMMITTEE on genetics and gene therapy. He advised the US Defense Department’s research agency, DARPA, on synthetic biology. At the WHO, he was a member of its’ Ethics and Ebola Working Group.
Caplan became the first bioethicist to be sued for his professional role, after his involvement in a gene therapy trial that resulted in the death of research subject Jesse Gelsinger. In 2009, Caplan helped develop the first flu vaccine mandate at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and, later, New York state’s policy to require health care workers to “vaccinate or mask.”
Caplan was a Senior Fellow of the transhumanist, “technoprogressive” think tank known as IEET (Institute for Ethics and Emerging Technologies), which claimed to “…promote ideas about how technological progress can increase freedom, happiness, and human flourishing in democratic societies.” Transhumanism has been one of their main areas of study, as evidenced by its’ 2 co-founders:
1) NICK BOSTROM, a co-founder of the WORLD TRANSHUMANIST ASSOCIATION (aka HUMANITY+);
2) the bioethicist JAMES HUGHES, who served as executive director of the WORLD TRANSHUMANIST ASSOCIATION and who sat on the academic advisory council of the Christian Transhumanist Association. (Apparently, the Christian God doesn’t mind us humans doing his job).
Now for the controversial bit.
A complimentary essay on Caplan emphasized his Jewish background: “Caplan’s Jewish background and education also had a foundational influence on his early engagement in ethical and metaphysical questions. He was reared as a Conservative Jew, in a family whose relationship to Judaism he describes as “Workmen’s Circle, Zionist, and secular.” “I was not taken with Judaism as fundamentalism,” he explains, but as “a style of argument and mode of inquiry.” He gleefully recalls that he “spent a lot of time growing up arguing with rabbis, and fighting with Sunday school and Hebrew school teachers.” (“Honoring Arthur L. Caplan”, Renee C. Fox, Volume 16, Issue 1, “Journal of Contemporary Health Law & Policy” (2000)).
Why am I raising this issue? Because I’m racist? Anti-Semitic? No!! It’s because the Ruling Elite have long exploited Jewish people for their own ends, whether persecuting them or protecting them or employing them. See my disclaimer in the “Fake News” section. The bitter irony of Jewish history is that religious Jews promoted themselves as ‘God’s chosen people’, yet were persecuted by those who similarly regarded themselves as the true ‘Master Race’, e.g., the Nazis, and who pursued dark eugenics policies. In contrast, there have always been people – some of them academics; some of them Jewish – who regarded Jewish people as intellectually superior or morally superior, e.g., CHARLES MURRAY and his Jewish co-author RICHARD HERRNSTEIN (authors of “The Bell Curve”). Also, the controversial Jewish Kabbalist and Rabbi, YITZCHAK GINSBURGH. See “The Kabbalist Who Would Be King of a New Jewish Monarchy in Israel” (“Forward”, Natan Odenheimer, October 14, 2016).
Also Jewish was the aforementioned EZEKIEL EMANUEL. The Hastings Center has employed numerous Jewish academics, though that may be partly due to its’ location in New York State, which had the biggest Jewish population outside of Israel.
Caplan did his undergraduate work at the Jewish sponsored Brandeis University.
Caplan did his graduate work in New York city (New York!) at Columbia University. There he was supervised by 2 renowned Jewish professors: Ernest Nagel and Sidney Morgenbesser. Caplan worked with Nagel as a teaching assistant. Nagel himself spent one year at Rockefeller University, but spent the rest of his academic career at Columbia University.
“His [Caplan’s] contact with members of the “New York City intelligentsia,” who were prominent contributors to media publications like the NEW YORK TIMES, NEW YORK REVIEW OF BOOKS, and NEW YORKER, were “opening up the idea [for him] that philosophy could be public,” and that it was possible to have an intellectual life concerned with large issues, without taking “the straight-up academic route.”…What Caplan refers to as “one of the great unplanned events of my life” brought all these elements together, and launched him into the field of bioethics. In 1977, on his return flight from a conference on genetics, genetic testing, and cloning, to which Bernard Schoenberg had sent him, Caplan happened to sit next to philosopher Daniel Callahan, one of the speakers at the conference.” (taken from Renee C. Fox’s article above).
The aforementioned Dr. Bernard Schoenberg was also Jewish, also a Columbia Professor, and a native of New York City. Schoenberg co‐founded the FOUNDATION OF THANATOLOGY, the first organization in the United States devoted to the study of the dying and the improvement of medical education in the treatment of the dying patient.
Jewish members of the Hastings Centre in 2021 included:
1) Its’ President – MILDRED Z. SOLOMON, who at Harvard Medical School directed the school’s Fellowship in Bioethics. At George Soros’ OSF she sat on its’ advisory council of the Public Health and Human Rights Program. At the Aspen Institute, Solomon provided expert consultation and a background scholarly paper on end-of-life care for its’ Aspen Health Strategies Group. At the WEF (World Economic Forum) she served on its’ Global Council on Technology, Values and Policy. Solomon wrote a WEF article: “The 4 Big Ethical Questions of the Fourth Industrial Revolution” (2016).
2) Vice Chair of the Board – SHONNI SILVERBERG, the President of a Jewish Reform Synagogue in New York (CENTRAL SYNAGOGUE). At Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons she was a Professor in the Department of Medicine. At the NIH (National Institutes of Health), Silverberg was co-director of a training program. She was involved with numerous Jewish organisations, e.g., the American Jewish Committee (AJC).
3) Board Secretary – PETER CANELLOS, a New York City lawyer who was chairman of the New York State Bar Association Tax Section. He was a graduate of Columbia University and attended Columbia Law School and was editor-in-chief of the Columbia Law Review.
Canellos clerked for a Jewish Judge, the Honorable Judge CHARLES D. BREITEL of the New York Court of Appeals (the highest tribunal in the State). Judge Breitel was a director at the Jewish Board of Guardians, and was a trustee of the Jewish service organisation, B’nai B’rith.
Canellos worked at one of the most profitable law firms in the world: the New York law firm of Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz; widely regarded as one of the most prestigious. It had Jewish co-founders.
Other Hastings Centre board members in 2021 with Rockefeller connections and Jewish connections included:
1) BARRY S. COLLER – at THE ROCKEFELLER UNIVERSITY (in New York) he had numerous positions: physician-in-chief; Vice President for Medical Affairs; David Rockefeller Professor of Medicine; the founding Director of the Rockefeller University Center for Clinical and Translational Science.
Coller grew up in New York, where he studied at Columbia College and at New York University. Also in New York, he worked at the Jewish-founded MOUNT SINAI HOSPITAL and its’ School of Medicine.
At Johns Hopkins University’s Berman Institute of Bioethics, Coller was on its’ advisory board.
2) JOSEPH J. FINS – a member of the adjunct faculty of Rockefeller University and senior attending physician at The Rockefeller University Hospital. Fins was President-elect of the International Neuroethics Society (President in 2022).
Fins wrote on Jewish healthcare, e.g. he co-wrote “The Care of the Ultra-Orthodox Jewish Patient” and “Embracing Life & Facing Death: A Jewish Guide to Palliative Care”, the latter co-written with the influential American Rabbi DAVID S BRENNER, who served on the faculty of a Jewish think tank in New York City, CLAL (The National Jewish Center for Learning and Leadership). Brenner became a vice president of the New York based Jewish organisation, BIRTHRIGHT ISRAEL, founded by influential Jewish people such as CHARLES BRONFMAN.
3) HARRIET S. RABB – Vice President and General Counsel at The Rockefeller University.
4) SARAH SCHLESINGER – an associate professor of clinical investigation at The Rockefeller University and senior attending physician at The Rockefeller University Hospital. As a 17-year-old in high school, she worked in the lab of 2 top Jewish scientists, Dr. Ralph Steinman and Dr. Zanvil Cohn, at The Rockefeller University, just a few years after they published their discovery of dendritic cells of the immune system. She led the clinical efforts to bring new HIV vaccine candidates developed at Rockefeller into the clinic.
I couldn’t find out if Schlesinger was Jewish, but I did find another Sarah Schlesinger who participated in the aforementioned Birthright Israel; had a Jewish father; worked at the Jewish Federation of Boston; studied Judaism in college. (See “Sarah Schlesinger: The Power of Israel, A Birthright Experience”, online article, “The New Jew: Blogging Jewish Philanthropy and Innovation”, December 10th, 2007).
